Greenwich Head

The Greenwich Head is a race for 4s (coxed and coxless), quads (coxed and coxless) and eights, rowed on the Thames finishing at the PBDRC clubhouse. The distance is 3 to 3.5 miles depending on whether the race is rowed on the flood tide or the ebb tide.

The Greenwich Head is believed to be the oldest Head race on the Thames, having been inaugurated in 1948, and remains the only Head race rowed downstream of Tower Bridge.
