Captain, vice- captain, and trustees
Responsible for the day to day running of the club responsible for the welfare and safety of all members on and off the water. Please remember everyone at PBDRC is a volunteer to help run the club. Any issues with any member or members please email trustees@pbdrc.co.uk or captain@pbdrc.co.uk.
Rowing committee (Traffic light System)
Dan, Sara, Tash, Guy, Ian, Markus, Ben.
Members who represent the different rowing groups within the club from the racing, men, women, social, and LTR groups. They try to link each group and build the club from LTR ( novice rowers) right the way through to racing and competing in regattas. The Rowing Committee are also responsible for overseeing the progression for members throughout the traffic light system and then recommending the member to the current trustees who will then allow the member to progress through the traffic light system.
Traffic light system (TLS)
The club is required to keep a record of all members with regards to steering and boatmanship as requested by The Thames Regional Rowing Council (TRRC), we use the TLS for this purpose.
If a member would like to progress through the TLS they would first require to approach either a member of the rowing committee or a trustee who will help assist them through the process, all members of the Rowing Committee and Trustees will be made aware of the member transitioning through the TLS at each stage. After the member has approached a Rowing Committee member or Trustee they will be required to take the relevant theory tests for the colour in which they are trying to achieve.
This member will then be assessed over a period of time (no time limit) on the water with regards to steering and boatmanship, the Rowing Committee, trustees And senior members of the club will help the member with advice and help whilst the member is on and off the water to gain the knowledge the club require for them to become an accomplished oarsman whilst rowing on this part of the Thames.

Health and Safety

Members have use of the gym, weights and associated equipment but may only do so following instruction on its use. Members using any equipment without prior instruction do so at their own risk.
Rules applicable to all:
• Do not use weights alone.
• Put all equipment away tidily after use.
• Only use equipment with which you are familiar.
• Keep access to emergency doors clear at all times.
• Report accidents/damage.
• If it hurts, STOP.

Boat Allocation
For a boat to be allocated to a member or crew it is required to contact the captain with a minimum of 4 regattas throughout the racing season and the proposed training program or to train with a recognised current training group on a regular basis.
The boat allocated will reflect the their current level and ability, hopefully the member(s) will improve with results, which would also reflect on the boat allocated going forward.
A deposit is required in line with our insurance policy and the responsibility of the boat lies solely with the member. For more information see also the club rules.

Buildings and maintenance
If members find any issues with the building ie. Leaks, lights, toilets, damage etc.

Boat repairs
All boat damage and repairs need to be reported to Ron so a record of maintenance can be logged.
If you take any spares from the workshop make sure Ron is made aware and doesn’t need it for an ongoing boat repair.
If a member does accidentally damage a boat make an effort to help repair it with guidance if required, we don’t expect you to be a boat repair specialist but Ron would welcome another pair of hands to help, remember everyone is a volunteer at PBDRC.
If anyone does accidentally damage a boat please DO NOT just put it back on the rack and hope no one sees it, we row on a very dangerous part of the river and any damage has to be logged so a member does not use a damaged boat.
