Poplar Regatta, held on Sunday, May 19th, 2024, at the London Regatta Centre, proved to be a resounding success. Blessed with beautiful sunshine and near-perfect racing conditions, the event saw rowers of all levels compete in a thrilling display of athleticism.

The regatta wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless efforts of the dedicated volunteers from the Poplar Blackwall & District Rowing Club. Their commitment and hard work ensured a smooth-running event. Additionally, the expertise of the British Rowing umpires played a vital role in maintaining fair and competitive races throughout the day. Special thanks to the staff at the London Regatta Centre and the Royal Albert Dock Trust.

With a festive atmosphere and top-notch competition with over 80 races, the 2024 Poplar Regatta was a day to remember for both participants and spectators alike. The winning time of 5m 33.7s in the Open 8+ Gold event by London RC deserves a special mention, as it set a course record.
