An excellent day out for Poplar at the Hammersmith Regatta 2026!

It was Niamh’s first regatta not in the cox’s seat—her double with Taran blasted their way to the final, where they narrowly missed out on the win after a brilliant effort.

Joseph bravely battled illness to put in a great showing, eventually bowing out to some tough opposition in the semi-final of the Op 1x event.

Meanwhile, Ben and Dan secured a solid win in the double. Sensible marathon prep for Ben the day before the big run!

The star of the show was Charlotte. It was her first regatta in a single, and she absolutely dominated in both the semi and the final.

A special thanks to the club members, friends, and family who came down to support. We haven’t had that much cheering from the bank at a regatta for ages, and it really does make all the difference.

An extra special mention goes to Dan and Taran for helping change a tyre on the way home for some bonus strength training.
