The first quiz night of 2023 brought over 40 club members and friends together to test their general and random knowledge.

What does it takes to win at Poplar? Try to answer the following sample of questions:

  • What is faster a hovercraft or a sailing boat?
  • How many prime ministers, deputy prime ministers and chancellors of the exchequer did the UK have in 2022?
  • What is written on the letter box on 10 Downing Street?
  • Did Meatloaf belt out “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)” before or after Vanilla Ice rapped “Ice, ice baby”?

If that was easy, try to draw a kangaroo with your non-dominant hand! Can you do better than the examples from the gallery below?

Seven teams competed for glory trying, to answer the questions and challenges put forward by Harry. Over the rounds there was some movement in the leaderboard. “HMS Ram” and “Lost at Sea” battled out the last place, but “Buoy Oh Buoy” was the clear winner. Congratulations to the winning team!

Thanks to Harry and Vicky for organising the event and bringing many club members and friends together. Keep an eye on the events page for the next social get-together at Poplar!
