Henley Boat Races (Oxford vs. Cambridge lightweight boat race)
Laura Stewart from the club’s sculling squad raced for the University of Cambridge in the infamous Oxford vs. Cambridge lightweight boat race in Henley at the weekend. Laura achieved a club first; being the first member to participate in the boa race whilst being a member at PBDRC. Oxford stole the lead in the end to win by 2 1/2 lengths, but the race marks a monumental achievement for Laura. She has been training hard over the past couple of years in to prepare herself for university squad trials – so a huge congratulations to her.
The Head of the River Race
The men’s squad performed really well on Saturday, finishing 40 places higher than last year at 195. This is a really solid achievement for the men’s squad.
Vets. Head
Last weekend’s racing was rounded off by a really strong result from the novice womens’ eight, who finished second in their category.
A huge congratulations to all our crews for last weekend’s results.
