The Poplar Boathouse is over 50 years old and in need of modernisation. Opportunities to raise money for the club are greatly appreciated. PBDRC vice-captain Harry, along with his Scottish wife Vicky organised a fantastic Burns Night.

Bagpipers welcomed the guests, and of course the Haggis a little later. Poems by Rabbie Burns were recited, club members Charles and Kim toasted the laddies and lassies.

Finally, our rowers were test if they cannot only push with their legs, but also dance with their feet. Mind you, rowers’ feet are usually strapped into boats, but after a clumsy start and with a little guidance, the party got in full swing.

Huge thank to all who bought raffle tickets & donated last night, raising £1,500 for the club. Please visit the PBDRC support page to read more about how you can help the club.
