Poplar Games and Prizegiving Party – Thursday 11 and Saturday 13 April 2019
Sara Brewer and Ann Prestige will be taking part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge Race 2019. They will be rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic in aid of Street League and Alzheimer’s Society – they will be rowing for 2 hours on, 2 hours off. 24 hours a day, 7 hours a week. Following the success of last year’s inaugural competition, the Poplar Games are back for 2019 as part of Sara and Ann’s fundraising mission! Just like last year, this year’s games will be followed by a prizegiving dinner on the Saturday.
Thursday 11 April
Join us from 16:00 onward for the individual erg events over 100m, 250m, 500m and 1km.
The entry fee is £5 for as many or as few races as you like! Will you beat your 2018 personal best?
Saturday 13 April
After the morning outing, come and take part in the indoor team relay event. The total distance is 2km and a maximum of six per team is allowed.
The Poplar Games 2019 will then be followed by a prizegiving dinner, complete with raffle and disco, from 18:00. Tickets for the evening are £20pp on sale from Cheryl at the bar (cash only).
