Poplar Regatta Returns to Royal Albert Dock with Expanded Masters Events!
Poplar Blackwall & District Rowing Club (PBDRC) is thrilled to announce the return of the highly anticipated Poplar Regatta. Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 19th, 2024, as this exciting event splashes back into action at the London Regatta Centre in East London.
Poplar Regatta offers a fantastic opportunity for rowers of all levels to compete on the stunning Royal Albert Dock. This year’s event boasts thrilling 6-lane, side-by-side racing over a challenging yet rewarding 2,000-metre course.
Masters Rowers Welcome
In an exciting new development, the 2024 Poplar Regatta will be welcoming masters rowers for the very first time. Masters categories will also race the full 2,000-metre distance, offering experienced competitors a chance to test their skills and vie for glory.
A Regatta for All
Poplar Regatta remains committed to juniors and schools, with racing from J14 onwards in all boat categories. Racing will take place from 9 AM – 6 PM, with two levels of event for many categories: Gold, which is the regatta’s top level open to all, and Trophy for which CRI point totals will be limited giving a chance for less experienced crews to race against others of equal standing. This ensures a fun and competitive atmosphere for rowers of every background and experience level. We look forward to welcoming back regular clubs and schools and seeing new faces.
